How to Buy

 

Option 1: Bulk Packages

We primarily sell our pasture raised meats in bulk packages. Buying in bulk is the most efficient and sustainable way to purchase meats. Not only does it honor the entire animal, but it also provides you with a stocked freezer to plan your meals. It's like having a butcher shop right there in your home!! The only difference is that you know exactly where the meat came from and how it was raised. Convenience and peace of mind...Win-Win!!

We sell our bulk packages through pre-order for two harvests each year: a Spring Harvest and a Fall Harvest. We will typically open our pre-order window a month or two before we start fulfilling orders. This allows us to plan our harvest and figure out how many animals we should process. 

 

Option 2: Farm Store

We have a small store on our farm where you can purchase smaller quantities of our meats as well as our pasture raised eggs, Amish cheese and local honey. Occasionally, our kids will sell fresh baked goods as well. We built this store primarily for our regular customers to supplement their bulk orders between harvests...but it's also a great option to come by and pick up some things to try before placing a bulk order! Our farm store is open on Saturdays from 9-12.

 

Option 3: Farmers Market

From May thru September, you will find us at the Powhatan Village Farmers market every Thursday 4-6:30. Deemed the "Friendliest Farmers Market in Virginia", this GREAT local farmers market boasts a variety of awesome vendors as well as live music and food trucks. 

This is the only farmers market that we participate on a regular basis. We typically bring an assortment of our products to each market, where you have the opportunity to purchase by the pack rather than bulk packages. If you're local, this is a great option while the market is in season. 

Note: This market is held outdoors so it will not be held in inclement weather. Please check the Powhatan Village Farmer Market Facebook page for updates if the weather is questionable. 

 

 Option 4: Quarterfield Markets

The Hertzler family has been a huge influence in our community for over 40 years and we are thrilled that they've asked us to be a part of their new venture: Quarterfield Markets. This year-round farmers market is a great place to purchase products that are grown/produced locally! We currently sell our beef, pork and chicken at this market.

Quarterfield Markets is conveniently located just off Rt. 60 at 3209 Buckingham Rd, Powhatan, VA 23139. (You may have to plug Hertzler Farm & Feed into your GPS to find it.)

Open Monday-Friday 8-5 and Saturdays from 8-12.
